At Home Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 4 cup rice, cooked

  • 3 tbsp butter, divided

  • 3 eggs, whisked

  • 2 medium carrots, small dice

  • 1 small onion, small dice

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup frozen peas

  • 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp fish sauce

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1-2 tsp red pepper flakes 

  • 1/2 lb. peeled deveined shrimp

  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts *optional

  • Green onion and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Step 1

Heat pan on medium / high add 1 tablespoon of butter. 

Step 2

Add onions, carrots, and pease cook until tender. Add rice and 1 tablespoon of butter and cook until caramelized, 3-4 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon of butter, cook shrimp until pink. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Step 3

Move rice to the side of the pan add eggs and scramble. Add the soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes to heat through. Fold in bean sprouts.

 

Step 4

Serve immediately with sesame seed and green onions for garnish, if desired

Use right under (day old) rice!
